The next few are all from Kent’s disappointing defeat in the Royal London Cup at Radlett against Middlesex. I apologise that I’ve strayed from chronology, but the one about the first innings is going to take some deciphering, my hand writing is appalling (more on which later)

The urgency of agency,
Daniel Bell-Drummond’s bat,
Steven Finn gets slapped away,
He stretches, holds his back.

The urgency of agency,
Nick Gubbins in the deep,
The ball is drilled towards him much,
He’s lightning on his feet.

The urgency of agency,
Patel’s old-fashioned cricket,
Ball follows ball follows ball,
He peppers Kentish wicket.

The urgency of agency,
The bludgeon, Alex Blake,
He picks it early, sends it far,
And what a crack it makes,

The urgency of agency,
A second Seax spinner,
His foot against the Kentish throat,
A possible match-winner.

The urgency of agency,
In Heino Kuhn’s resistance,
If he can score, and stick around,
The match might go the distance.
