Because a Leeds fan punched Chris Kirkland in the game against Sheffield Wednesday….

….Huddersfield’s home game with Leeds was moved – following West Yorkshire Police advice – from the Friday evening, where it was due to be on Sky TV, bringing around £80,000 into the home club’s coffers, to Saturday lunchtime – Huddersfield will no longer receive that money.

Because Huddersfield v. Leeds Utd is now on a Saturday lunchtime….

….West Yorkshire Police cannot cover the Bradford City v. Brentford FA Cup match which was due to be played at 15.00 hours and has now been moved to the Friday night – which will reduce the amount of home fans at the game (all would have to buy tickets) and limit the amount of away fans who can attend, which will hit Bradford (and Brentford, for the gate receipts are shared) in the pocket in one of few games wherein clubs get gate receipts for all attendees.

So, because of the acts of an idiot Leeds supporter (and a few others who went onto the field of play), both of Leeds’ West Yorkshire rivals find themselves considerably out of pocket?

If you were looking for a reason to support Huddersfield in tomorrow’s game….
